About Us
The Military Order of the Purple Heart (MOPH) is a nonprofit, veterans service organization chartered by Congress exclusively for combat-wounded Veterans. MOPH National Service Program provides representation and assistance with veterans benefits to all military retirees, their dependents, and survivors at no cost.
Greater Washington Chapter 353 was created on February 22, 1982. Over the years, it has grown into one of the largest and the most active MOPH Chapters in Virginia and greater Washington, DC area. Chapter 353 Patriots represent all generations of combat-wounded Veterans – from World War II to Operations Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Iraqi Freedom (OIF).
Greater Washington Unit 353 of the Ladies' Auxiliary, Military Order of the Purple Heart (LAMOPH) has been one of the most active teaming partners of our Operation "Welcome Home" Project. In December 2006, it became one of the founding members of the Operation "Welcome Home" Program.
